We are a diverse group. We are Black. We are Latino. We are youth advocates. We are suburban moms. We are Democrats. We are Republicans. Some of us are even union members. The one thing we all have in common is that we support charter schools. We will not let other people define us, ignore us, or mischaracterize our work.We can't let anyone snub charter schools or take away opportunities from our children.
During the 2020 election season, Black leaders of charter schools united over three simple statements:
I am Black. I support charter schools. And I vote.
On radio appearances across the country at this pivotal moment, they each discussed the Black community’s overwhelming support for charter schools and the ways charter schools produce strong outcomes for their students.
